In Milan, on a November evening, Audemars Piguet chose to mark its 150th anniversary with a gesture that feels intimate in scale yet expansive in meaning. Instead of a traditional celebration, the maison unveiled The Testimonial, a short film created by C41 production and interpreted by Pierfrancesco Favino, an actor whose presence occupies a singular space in contemporary Italian cinema.

Favino steps into the film with his characteristic natural ease, moving through a tableau that blends imagination and craft. In The Testimonial, he acts as a guide through the Maison landscape, accompanying the viewer in a deep-dive discovery of the historical manufacturing in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, letting us admire the restoration atelier, the headquarters and the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet designed by danish architect Bjarke Ingles. A journey through space but also time, that crosses the milestone moments of the brand’s history, such as the creation of the iconic Royal Oak in 1972.

Audemars Piguet’s choice to honour this milestone through cinema reveals its affinity with cultural expression. The short film suggests that craftsmanship can travel across languages and that the relationship between the brand and its audience grows richer when imagination becomes part of the dialogue. Rather than revisiting history, The Testimonial looks ahead, reflecting a desire to explore new forms while remaining anchored to values shaped over a century and a half of watchmaking excellence.

Anniversaries often compress time into a single statement; this one expands it. In the encounter between a maison known for its meticulous art and an actor adept at revealing inner movement, the project creates a portrait of time that feels personal and open, ready to be experienced in multiple ways.
