Bottling a Timeless Summer: Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue Reimagined

There are fragrances that define a season, and then those that become its memory. For 25 years, Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue has captured summer not as a climate, but as a state of mind: sun-warmed skin, salt on the lips and laughter carried by the wind.
Now, the story continues, with a new chapter that revisits Capri through a more cinematic lens. Directed by Gordon Von Steiner and embodied by Vittoria Ceretti and Theo James, the new campaign unfolds like a sunlit short film: a love story suspended between sea and sky, where time stretches and reality softens. It’s not a destination, but a feeling. The sea becomes a threshold, the Faraglioni cliffs a backdrop for glances that speak louder than dialogue.
To celebrate the new launch, Dolce&Gabbana intited press, talents and the two protagonists of their campaign to the island of La Dolce Vita. Between a sunset boat trip to the Faraglioni and wild dancing at the famous Anema & Core tavern, guests were able to experience the spirit and unique vibes of this special location, elements that are themselves present in the maison’s olfactory creations.

Both the fragrances remain faithful to their origins but deepen their emotional register. Master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Alberto Morillas return to refine the formulas, preserving the recognizable brightness, while extending their radiance to last longer, feel bolder, linger like a second skin. There are the classic Light Blue and Light Blue Pour Homme, yes. But there are also two new compositions: Capri In Love, a pair of Eau de Parfums that add nuance and warmth, echoing the island’s terrain: sharp, floral, sun-drenched, timeless.
Even the bottles tell the story differently. Their soft curves and matte glass are now crowned with silver detailing and enamel caps in Mediterranean blue: a nod to the hand-painted ceramics of southern Italy. The packaging feels less like an object, more like a keepsake. A souvenir from somewhere golden.

But beyond beauty, there’s purpose. For this campaign, Dolce&Gabbana aligns with the Blue Marine Foundation, a charity committed to the protection of marine ecosystems, a cause dear to Theo James. Through this collaboration, the house affirms that to celebrate the sea is also to care for it. Sensuality and sustainability, together in a single breath.

In Light Blue’s world, Capri is not just a place, it is a memory waiting to be revived. A breeze, a note of lemon, a shadow across a sun-dappled terrace. To wear it is to be transported, not to a postcard, but to the feeling just before it was taken. To the moment before goodbye.
And so, 25 years on, Light Blue doesn’t mark a milestone. It marks a return. To the sea, to summer, to that impossible blue where everything is still possible.
